According to the official website of the People's Government of Changping District, Beijing, on January 2, leaders of Changping District held a discussion with leaders of Xiaomi Group and had in-depth exchanges on further deepening cooperation between the two parties and assisting the high-quality development of the company. Zhi Xianwei, deputy secretary of the Changping District Party Committee and mayor, and Yan Kesheng, vice president of Xiaomi Group and general manager of the mobile phone intelligent manufacturing department, attended the event.
During the exchange, the leaders of Changping District expressed congratulations on the upcoming commissioning of Xiaomi's smart factory and hoped that Xiaomi would increase its efforts to build the smart factory into a world-class "lighthouse factory."
Xiaomi revealed that the Xiaomi smart factory located in Changping District has completed the installation and commissioning of the first production line, and plans to put all production lines into production before the end of 2024. After reaching full production capacity, Xiaomi's smart factory is expected to have an annual production capacity of 10 million smartphones.
The first phase of Xiaomi Smart Factory is located in Yizhuang, Beijing. It is positioned as "research and development" to verify self-developed new processes, new materials, advanced equipment, automated production lines and digital systems. The second phase is located in Changping District. It is positioned for "mass production" and will deploy relevant process technologies on a large scale. Construction will begin in July 2021, covering an area of 58,300 square meters. It will implement a second-generation mobile phone smart production line including SMT patching, board testing, assembly, complete machine testing, and finished product packaging. The output value is expected to reach 50-60 billion yuan.
