Foxconn has responded to rumors about its car manufacturing: According to Foxconn Group’s 3+3 strategic industrial plan,In 2023, Foxconn Technology Group will establish Foxconn’s new business headquarters in Zhengzhou,and established Foxconn New Business Development Group Co., Ltd.. It is reported that the company is planning the development of new industries including new energy vehicles, batteries, etc.
Foxconn also mentioned that the newly established Foxconn New Energy Automobile Industry Development (Henan) Co., Ltd. under Foxconn New Business Development Group,We will further focus on the new energy vehicle industry and accelerate the implementation of projects.
Foxconn has already shown signs of joining the car-making industry.
It is reported that as early as October 2021, Foxconn published for the first time includingModel CSUV, Model E sedan and Model T electric busIncluding three independently developed electric vehicles.
In November 2021, Foxconn acquired the former General Motors factory in Lordstown, Ohio, USA, from electric vehicle company Lordstown Motors for 1.469 billion yuan, which is owned by Foxconn.first car factory.
In October 2022, Foxconn also released two new self-developed electric vehicle solutions, MODELB cross-border leisure travel and MODELV electric pickup truck.
On April 25, 2023, Foxconn’s new business headquarters under Hon Hai Group (Foxconn Technology Group) was opened inZhengzhou, Henan, ChinaThe unveiling ceremony was attended by Hon Hai Chairman Liu Yangwei in person.
On June 16, 2023, Hon Hai Group established Foxconn New Business Development Group. The group mainly operates key businesses such as artificial intelligence (AI) software, electric vehicle battery swap facilities, energy storage technology, and intelligent robots.
