According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple plans to produce 60,000 to 80,000 units of the Vision Pro, which will be released on February 2. Due to small initial shipments, he believes VisionPro will "sell out quickly after release."

Ming-Chi Kuo believes that although Apple has not determined the main applications of Vision Pro and the price is relatively high, "breakthrough technological innovation" and Apple's "core fans and heavy user base" will make the device in short supply.

He struck a similar note earlier this week, saying that demand for the headset will cause it to sell out during pre-orders and that he believes there will be significant shipping delays beyond the initial availability. Due to the complexity of production, Apple is expected to produce less than 400,000 Vision Pro headsets throughout 2024.

The first batch of Vision Pros will likely sell out quickly, but so far it's unclear whether demand for Vision Pros will continue "after the novelty wears off." Continued sales will depend on Apple's "clear and correct" product positioning and key applications.

Apple plans to release the Vision Pro on Friday, February 2, but it will be available for pre-order on January 19 at 5:00 a.m. PT. Pre-orders are currently limited to the United States, and Apple has not provided details on when the headset will be available in other countries.

Users planning to purchase the $3,500 VisionPro device should plan to pre-order now to ensure they get it in time for launch day.
