In addition to the Qi2 wireless charging stand, Apple accessory maker Satechi this week launched a new hub and charger for the Apple Mac series. The upgraded stand and hub for Macmini and MacStudio fits under Apple's Macmini/Studio desktops and includes an NVMe SSD enclosure that supports NVMe and M.2SATA SSDs. USB-C3.1 and USB-A3.1 ports are used for file transfer and support speeds of 10Gb/s.
An SSD added to the hub can be used for TimeMachine backups, along with two additional USB-A 3.0 ports, micro/SD card reader, and a headphone audio jack.
Satechi's Thunderbolt 4 Slim Hub Pro has three Thunderbolt 4 downstream ports, supports data transfer speeds of 40GB/s, and can also provide 15W of power to connected peripherals. It supports up to two 4K monitors or one 8K monitor and offers 32Gb/s native PCIe support for external GPUs and Thunderbolt-based SSDs.
The 145W USB-C4 Port GaN Travel Charger has two USB-C3.1 ports that can provide up to 140W of power and two USB-C3.0 ports that can provide up to 45W of power. When multiple devices are plugged in, the 145W maximum power will be distributed among the devices, and the charger provides intelligent power distribution that automatically adjusts the wattage for optimal charging.
All three devices are available today on the Satechi website. The Macmini/MacStudio stand and hub is $100, the Thunderbolt 4 Slim Hub Pro is $200, and the 145W travel charger is $120. Use promo code CES20 for 20% off.
