Previously, NVIDIA launched RTXVSR technology, which uses AI to improve the resolution of video images and reduce artifacts in native resolution videos. Recently at the CES2024 exhibition, NVIDIA demonstrated RTXVideoHDR. It can automatically convert any SDR video played in the browser into HDR video through AI deep learning algorithm.

Video appreciation:

Nvidia stated that most of the content on YouTube is transmitted with low resolution, low bandwidth and standard dynamic range (SDR) live streaming, which cannot show the best effect on 4K monitors. After using RTXVideoHDR to automatically convert to HDR video, you can present excellent video quality.

After seeing the practical application of this technology, the editor of foreign media PCGamer said that the quality of the converted video is very good, and the difference between the quality of the original video and the original video is "heaven and earth". However, the effect of this technology on different graphics cards needs to be known after actual observation.

RTXVideoHDR technology works with RTX graphics cards (20, 30, or 40 series), HDR10-compatible monitors, and Chromium-based browsers (such as Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge). Drivers supporting RTXVideoHDR will be released at the end of January and will be available to all RTX graphics card users. After completing the update, please enable the RTXVideoHDR function in the NVIDIA control panel. Users can use RTXVideoHDR and RTXVSR technologies at the same time to produce the clearest live broadcast images.
