NetEase Blizzard’s last case has been cancelled. Is the Chinese server returning behind the withdrawal of the lawsuit?

According to domestic media reports, the last case between NetEase and Blizzard was canceled and the two parties suddenly withdrew the lawsuit, which also triggered the return of the national server. This case is the last of the lawsuits between NetEase and Blizzard as the plaintiff. Previously, NetEase had sued Blizzard in four cases, all of which were held in January 2024. At the same time, Blizzard, as the plaintiff, has withdrawn all three cases in which Blizzard sued NetEase.

Relevant lawyers said that in addition to the parties reaching a settlement and mediating the withdrawal of the lawsuit, there may also be other factors that cause the trial to be postponed. Generally speaking, after the plaintiff withdraws the lawsuit, the court will make a decision to withdraw the lawsuit.

Prior to this, it was reported that Blizzard had negotiated with many domestic game manufacturers about the "return of the national server" in the past period, and finally chose to cooperate with NetEase again.

Blizzard China later responded that we currently have no information or updates to share.

People close to the company said that NetEase's team that was previously responsible for operating Blizzard's national server has been disbanded this year, and it is unlikely that the team will be reorganized for Blizzard in a short time.
