The first teardown of the new iPhone 15 Pro confirms it's easier to repair than before, while also revealing how the internal chassis has been redesigned. Every review of the new iPhone 15 Pro praises Apple for switching to titanium instead of stainless steel. The change meant the iPhone was lighter and stronger, but what was overlooked was that Apple also redesigned the interior.

Now PBKreviews on YouTube has revealed the details of these internal changes and shows how the new iPhones will theoretically be easier to repair than ever before.

In practice, repair requires more than just the ability to disassemble and reassemble a phone. Despite this, PBKreviews gave the iPhone 15 Pro a repairability score of 7 out of 10.

"If any part is replaceable, this is it," the commenter said. "With Apple, most parts are locked and even if you replace them, they will pop up some kind of error message or not work properly."

Since around 2019 and the iPhone 11 series, Apple has included a system for verifying that screen replacements were completed by authorized repair personnel. Later, it expanded the idea to repairing cameras as well.

In either case, the iPhone will continue to notify the user if genuine Apple parts were not used during the repair. The purpose is to prevent users from being cheated by cheaper, less reliable repair components.
