[Doosan plans to invest 970 billion won to expand AI chip material production] September 18th, it is reported that South Korea’s Doosan Group plans to invest 970 billion won to expand the production of AI semiconductor core material “copper clad laminate (CCL)”. Doosan plans to first invest 420 billion won in South Korea to expand its CCL production line for optical modules. The company plans to expand the production line at one of its currently operating factories in Iksan, Jeonbuk, Jeongpyeong, and Gyeongbuk Gimcheon. In addition, Doosan will invest 550 billion won to build another CCL production plant for AI accelerators and network switches in China. The company plans to increase production at expanded plants in South Korea and China from 2028.
