[An oil tanker was hit by an unidentified missile in the Strait of Hormuz] October 3rd, the UK Maritime Trade Operations Office (UKMTO) reported on October 2nd local time that it had received a report about a security incident in the Strait of Hormuz. According to a report by the captain of an oil tanker, the ship was hit by an unidentified projectile while performing an outbound voyage, resulting in a small fire on board and a power outage throughout the ship. The fire has since been extinguished and the vessel is currently underway. UKMTO said there were no reports of casualties or environmental impacts. Relevant authorities are investigating.
