[The country’s first million-kilowatt photovoltaic photothermal project is connected to the grid for power generation] October 10th, the country’s first million-kilowatt photovoltaic photothermal project, the Qinghai Gonghe million-kilowatt photovoltaic photothermal project, was recently connected to the grid to generate electricity, promoting the expansion of new energy from generating electricity according to the weather to supplying power according to the needs of the grid. The project is located in Gonghe County, Hainan Prefecture, Qinghai Province, with a total installed capacity of 1 million kilowatts, consisting of a 900,000-kilowatt photovoltaic power station and a 100,000-kilowatt molten salt tower solar thermal power station. After the project is put into operation, it is expected that the average annual grid-connected electricity will reach 2.2 billion kilowatt-hours, saving approximately 690,000 tons of standard coal and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 2.07 million tons each year. It will effectively absorb peak power and heat storage, and improve the peak shaving capacity of the local power grid and the level of new energy consumption. (21 Finance)
