[Superconducting strips will move towards large-scale industrial production and the Shanghai Superconducting Phase III Base Project is capped] On October 18, Shanghai Superconducting Technology Co., Ltd.’s second-generation high-temperature superconducting strip production and headquarters base project in Zhangjiang, Pudong, today ushered in a key node - the main building was fully capped. This means that the new base with a planned production capacity of 15,000 kilometers per year (12mm) has officially moved from the construction stage to the production line assembly and equipment commissioning stage. After completion and production, Shanghai Superconducting's total production capacity will rise to 20,000 kilometers per year, ranking first in the world's second-generation high-temperature superconducting strip segment. The project covers an area of nearly 100 acres, with a total investment of 2.5 billion yuan. It is the first major industrial project in Zhangjiang Science City that can start construction immediately after receiving the land, and hand over the certificate immediately. At present, Shanghai Superconducting's annual production capacity has reached 4,000 kilometers per year (12mm), and it is one of the only superconducting strip companies in the world with actual annual shipments exceeding 1,000 kilometers.
