[Long Electric Power Project to Sichuan has been approved, Gansu has added a clean energy export artery] On October 21, reporters recently learned from the State Grid Gansu Electric Power Company that the Sichuan UHV DC project for power transmission from the Badain Jaran Desert Base in Gansu (hereinafter referred to as the Long Power Project to Sichuan) has been approved by the National Development and Reform Commission, marking a breakthrough in the preliminary work of the project. The Long Electric Power Transfer Project to Sichuan is a key project in the country’s “14th Five-Year Plan” power development plan. It is also the fourth UHV DC external transmission channel laid out and constructed in Gansu Province after the Long Power Power Transfer Project to Hunan, Long Power Power Transfer Project to Shandong, and Long Power Power Transfer Project to Zhejiang Province. The project starts from Jinta County, Jiuquan City, Gansu Province, and ends at Lezhi County, Ziyang City, Sichuan Province. The line passes through three provinces (regions): Gansu, Inner Mongolia, and Sichuan. The rated transmission capacity is 8 million kilowatts. The total length of the DC line is 1459.7 kilometers, with a total investment of 23.654 billion yuan. Among them, the length of lines in Gansu is 1,160.7 kilometers, accounting for nearly 80% of the entire line. The total installed capacity of supporting power supply for the Longdian Power Supply Project in Sichuan is 15 million kilowatts. The transmission end will be connected to the large-scale scenery base in Shagehuang, Badain Jilin Desert, Gansu Province, and the supporting installed capacity of new energy sources will be 11 million kilowatts. Among them, 4.3 million kilowatts of wind power and 6.7 million kilowatts of photovoltaic power are supported simultaneously with 4 million kilowatts of peak-shaving coal power and 2 million kilowatts/4 hours of electrochemical energy storage, realizing the multi-energy complementarity of northwest wind and solar power and southwest hydropower, and the mutual support of water and fire.
