[TSMC A14 is expected to break the 8-year technical bottleneck and achieve the world's smallest SRAM cell size] October 27th, TSMC plans to reduce the area of high-density 6T SRAM bit cells to less than 0.017 square microns on the A14 process that will be mass-produced in 2028, a decrease of more than 19%. This will be the first substantial reduction in TSMC’s SRAM cell size since N5 mass production in 2020. A14 is currently in the trial production stage, used to evaluate node feasibility and allow customers to verify design performance.
