[TSMC acquires AU Optronics’ factories and related facilities in Taichung for approximately US$1.2 billion] On October 29, according to an announcement on the Taiwan Stock Exchange, TSMC acquired nine factories and related facilities in Taichung City from AU Optronics Co., Ltd. for a total transaction amount of NT$38.8 billion (US$1.2 billion) for operation and production. AU Optronics announced in an announcement that it expects the proceeds from the disposal to be approximately NT$18.5 billion. The company is committed to an asset-light operating model, revitalizing assets and improving financial structure.
