[Research: The solar system may add another dwarf planet] On October 29, the International Astronomical Union Minor Planet Center announced on October 27 that a dwarf planet candidate was discovered in the outer reaches of the solar system. If confirmed, it will become the sixth officially recognized dwarf planet in the solar system.
