[China Council for the Promotion of International Trade: The economic and trade friction index in the electronics industry has been at a high level for 68 consecutive months] On October 30, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade held a press conference and announced the latest economic and trade friction index. From the comprehensive index, the global economic and trade friction index in August 2026 was 100, which is at a high level, but the fluctuation range has slowed down. Looking at the country index, among the 20 countries (regions) within the monitoring scope, the United States, India and Canada rank in the top three in terms of global economic and trade friction index. From the perspective of industry indexes, among the 13 major industries within the monitoring scope, the conflict points of economic and trade friction measures focus on the electronics, pharmaceutical and other industries. Among them, the economic and trade friction index of the electronics industry ranks first and has been at a high level for 68 consecutive months. Wang Wenshuai, spokesperson of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, said that it is worth noting that China is still the primary target of trade remedy investigations. In terms of products, traditional industrial chains such as steel and chemicals are still the focus of the investigation, and they are deeply penetrating into new energy and high-end equipment such as wind power towers and electric tractors.
