["Mazu" ocean forecast numerical model version 2.0 officially released] November 1, today, in response to China's major needs such as deep-sea polar exploration and maritime channel safety, the National Marine Environment Forecast Center of the Ministry of Natural Resources successfully released version 2.0 of China's independently developed "Mazu" ocean forecast numerical model, achieving differentiated and variable-resolution accurate forecasts in key sea areas around the world. The global forecast system resolution of version 2.0 of this model has doubled to 5 kilometers compared with the previous generation. In key sea areas such as China's offshore and Western Pacific, the resolution has been increased to 1 kilometer, which can accurately analyze the topographic and hydrological characteristics of key sea areas. Version 2.0 also retains the advantages of high-performance GPU acceleration, lightweight and low energy consumption, and successfully completed shipboard operation testing on the "Xuelong 2" scientific research vessel.
