[State Street Bank CEO: It is still difficult to think that AI has formed a bubble because actual demand is supporting huge investments] On November 3, State Street Chairman and CEO Ron O’Hanley said that it is currently “hard to think” that AI has formed a bubble because actual demand is supporting huge investments in this technology. O’Hanley said in an interview on Tuesday that these data centers are not being built without demand. He pointed out that there are actual orders behind them, and in most cases, there are real companies behind them. So for now, it's hard to think of this as a bubble.
He said on the sidelines of the International Financial Leaders Investment Summit hosted by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority that the question is whether AI will become more efficient in the future, so that the production capacity currently being built will not be needed by then. O’Hanley said some selling pressure in the market may be overdue. He said that at least for now, the market trend is definitely not disordered.
