[Merck’s PD-1 inhibitor Keytruda is approved for locally advanced head and neck squamous cell carcinoma in China] On September 4, Merck announced that its PD-1 inhibitor Keytruda® (pembrolizumab) has been approved by the China National Medical Products Administration (NMPA). Adult patients with surgically resectable locally advanced head and neck squamous cell carcinoma whose tumors were evaluated for PD-L1 expression (composite positive score (CPS) ≥1) were treated with single-agent neoadjuvant therapy, followed by adjuvant therapy with radiotherapy with or without cisplatin chemotherapy after surgery, and then continued pembrolizumab monotherapy.
