[Cracking down on "Quajin Duanliang" and "Cheating Scales", electronic price scale measurement supervision will be piloted in three provinces] September 4th, in order to severely crack down on the "Qujin Duanliang" and "cheating scales" chaos and protect the legitimate rights and interests of consumers, the State Administration for Market Regulation will launch a pilot project for the measurement supervision of electronic price scales in Hebei, Zhejiang, and Fujian provinces, explore a regulatory model that can be replicated and promoted, and secure the bottom line of consumption fairness. In accordance with the idea of "pilot first, summary and promotion, and nationwide rollout", the State Administration for Market Regulation adheres to government guidance and market leadership, and strives to build a penetrating smart supervision system for electronic pricing scales, giving full play to the "shell opening and locking machine" of electronic pricing scales that complies with the "Electronic Pricing Scale Type Evaluation Outline (Trial)" , authorized unlocking, three codes and one package” and the technical advantages of the smart supervision platform’s full traceability, promote the transformation of measurement supervision of electronic price scales from “post-event investigation and punishment” to “prevention and monitoring during the incident”, and use intelligent, digital, and chain methods to build a “technical defense line” for electronic price scales to prevent cheating. Starting from January 8, 2027, electronic pricing scales that do not meet the requirements of the "Electronic Pricing Scale Type Evaluation Outline (Trial)" are not allowed to be sold or repaired. Newly produced electronic pricing scales will be verified in accordance with the "Electronic Pricing Scale Verification Regulations (Trial)". It is clear that fair scales in market markets "lead the lead" and take the lead in replacing new ones, implement classified policies, strictly prohibit "one size fits all" forced scale replacement, and use market-oriented means to stimulate the initiative of business entities.
