Mao Ning said that from August 31 to September 5, the Director-General and Chairman of the Executive Council of the OPCW, as well as permanent representatives and senior diplomats of 12 countries to the OPCW, were invited to visit China. During this period, they went to Hunchun in Jilin and Halbaling in Dunhua to inspect the excavation, recovery, and destruction of Japanese relics of chemical weapons on site. Mao Ning pointed out that this visit coincides with the Victory Day of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the Victory Day of the World Anti-Fascist War. Back then, the Japanese militarism launched an invasion of China that brought serious humanitarian disasters and also left behind the historical poison of Japanese chemical weapons.
