[Ammonia gas leakage accident at a fertilizer plant in southern Iraq has caused more than 100 casualties] On September 14th, the Iraqi Ministry of Health released the latest casualty data, saying that an ammonia gas leakage accident at a state-owned fertilizer company in Basra Province in the country's south the previous day had killed 2 people and injured 114 people. Most of the injured were minor. The Iraqi Civil Defense Department previously stated that a preliminary investigation showed that the accident was caused by a sudden and unexpected gas leak, and that the scene was currently under control.
