[Oman calls for the development of alternative LNG transportation routes that can bypass the Strait of Hormuz] On September 14, Oman’s energy minister stated at an important meeting of natural gas producers and traders that as the months-long conflict in the Persian Gulf continues to disrupt natural gas transportation, there is an urgent need to open alternative routes to allow liquefied natural gas (LNG) transportation to bypass the Strait of Hormuz. “Let’s look for other export routes,” Oman’s Energy and Minerals Minister Salim Al-Aufi told the Gastech conference in Bangkok on Monday. "Whether it's exporting north, or exporting through Oman or Yemen, it's important to diversify export routes and move resources out of the region."
