Abstract:
Amazon suspended cooperation with cargo airline 21 Air LLC after a flight operated by the latter overran the runway in Miami on September 6, local time, killing five people on the ground. Amazon said in a news blog on Sunday, "We have invested time supporting the investigation and reviewed some of the circumstances and have decided to suspend our cooperation with 21 Air. We remain committed to supporting the investigation and helping all those affected."
A Boeing 767 cargo plane with flight number 7598 overran the tarmac at Miami International Airport and hit two cars. According to a cockpit recording released by the National Transportation Safety Board, one of the pilots ordered an abort because the plane was landing too fast.
21 Air said in a statement, "We are confident in our security policies, procedures and training." The company said it will focus on "working closely with the National Transportation Safety Board and all partners, including Amazon," as the investigation continues.
The five people killed and the five injured in the accident were all in the two vehicles hit by the plane.
