Recently, some consumers posted on social platforms that Maxim’s mooncakes purchased with a tens of billions of subsidies on Taobao were found to be fake after receiving them by scanning the QR code. The consumer revealed that the above-mentioned products were purchased on Taobao's "Ten Billion Subsidy Brand Selection". "This store is currently closed. The customer service said that they didn't even pay a deposit for this store. I don't know how they passed the capital verification for the tens of billions of subsidies."
It is worth noting that the customer service of the "Ten Billion Subsidy Brand Selection" once told the consumer that "this is genuine" and suggested that he use Alipay to scan the QR code for verification. After the consumer scanned the code as prompted, the result still showed that it was fake. In this regard, the customer service also explained that it was caused by "too many code scans." The response left consumers feeling pushback and sparked dissatisfaction.
The above-mentioned consumer also said that he later purchased authentic Maxim's mooncakes on other platforms for comparison and found many obvious differences: First, the authentic bag was darker and made of a reflective material with an oil film, while the fake one was made of ordinary colored printing paper; secondly, the box had the original pattern. The texture is very deep and clear, and the fake ones are much lighter than the genuine ones; thirdly, scanning the QR code will directly indicate the fake ones, while the genuine ones will show that they are genuine, and scanning the QR code multiple times will not prompt the fake ones; finally, there are the mooncakes, the genuine ones have a baked texture, and the raised positions will have heavy colors after baking, but the fake ones do not.
Taobao has no official response to this situation. Taobao customer service replied, "The platform is very strict in handling counterfeit goods. We will cooperate with consumers to handle this transaction properly. If there are relevant counterfeit sales certificates or information, we will actively feedback to the relevant departments for verification and processing. Once the certificate is verified to be valid, we will also deal with the merchant seriously."
Talking about whether this store is an official Taobao store with tens of billions of subsidies, and why it was removed from the shelves? The above-mentioned customer service only responded that "Generally, the products may be sold out, or the store may be undergoing rectification."
