Abstract:
The "Black Myth: Wukong" Global Concert Taipei Station completed two nights of performances on September 19th and 20th. During the encore session, the ditty "Black Myth: Zhong Kui" came on stage, bringing the show to an end.
The performance was held at the Legacy MAX Theater in Taipei. More than a dozen singers and folk music performers from "Black Myth: Wukong" shared the stage with the New Philharmonic Orchestra. They re-interpreted many music pieces in the game through symphony, folk music and live singing in conjunction with game images.
A total of nearly 20 game tunes were performed at Taipei Station, including in-game adaptations of "Yungong Xunyin" and "Dare to Ask Where is the Way". Both works come from the 1986 CCTV TV series "Journey to the West". The familiar melody is combined with game images and contemporary arrangements to once again present the cultural memory of "Journey to the West".
After the regular repertoire, the ditty "Black Myth: Zhong Kui" appeared in the encore session. As the last note fell, the audience responded with applause and cheers, and the two nights of performances came to an end.
During the event, the main visual of the "Black Myth: Wukong" global concert was also displayed on many outdoor large screens in Ximending, extending the performance-related images from the theater to the streets of Taipei.
"Black Myth: Wukong" was launched by Game Science and will be released globally in August 2024. Sales reached 10 million units within 3 days of launch. This time in Taipei, game music and images were used to connect the content of the work, and the performance ended with the ditty "Black Myth: Zhong Kui".
