Abstract:
After Apple’s first foldable screen phone iPhone Duo opened for pre-order on October 16, the official delivery time was extended to 2027 in less than an hour. The estimated delivery dates for all configurations on Apple's US official website have been scheduled to late January; about 20 minutes after pre-orders started, it was also observed that the delivery time for multiple configurations has been extended to January 25. Customers who place orders in time when pre-orders start can still catch up with the launch day of October 23 to receive their goods.

The rapid extension of the pre-order schedule may be related to strong demand for the first release, Apple's limited supply, or a combination of both. There is currently no official data to explain the specific reasons. Apple usually reserves part of its inventory for store sales on the official launch day, so delays in online orders do not necessarily mean that all stores are out of stock, but whether you can buy it in stores in advance still depends on local inventory.
There is also a significant premium in the resale market. An iPhone Duo with night color and 2TB capacity was sold on eBay for $4999.99. Apple’s official price for this configuration is $3199. The product page clearly states it's "pre-order," so the deal isn't proof that the seller got the phone, and it's more likely that the buyer paid a premium to qualify for the order or subsequent delivery. Vadim Yuryev of the technology channel Max Tech discovered this sale record, but the current single high-price transaction is not enough to represent the general price of the entire second-hand market.
Apple offers iPhone Duo in four capacities of 256GB, 512GB, 1TB and 2TB, priced at US$1,999, US$2,199, US$2,599 and US$3,199 respectively. The colors are starlight white and night. The product will be officially launched on October 23, with the first batch of pre-orders covering more than 70 countries and regions. The delay in the official delivery date reflects the rapid booking of the first batch of online inventory, but it does not mean that Apple has announced that all products are sold out; there is still uncertainty about whether the pre-orders that have not yet been delivered will be fulfilled as scheduled.
