Abstract:
Well-known whistleblower Sonny Dickson recently shared a photo of SIM card trays of different colors and claimed that these parts belong to Apple’s upcoming iPhone 18 Pro series. Photos show that Apple's new generation flagship phone may once again be available in three colors, namely silver, dark cherry and sky blue. Currently, Apple offers the iPhone 17 Pro in three colors: cosmic orange, silver, and dark blue.
Dickson shared the photo in response to a report published on Tuesday. Citing Chinese tipsters, the report said the iPhone 18 Pro series may be available in dark cherry, sky blue and black colours.
In recent months, the only iPhone 18 Pro accessories he has come across are the three colors shown in the photos. However, the tipster shared a model of the iPhone 18 Pro in May this year, which included a black version. Faced with this, Dickson said that black models are produced every year, but black is no longer Apple’s preferred official color.
iPhones sold in the United States, Canada, and some other regions use eSIM and do not come with a physical SIM card tray; however, models sold in Europe, Japan, China, and Australia still have a SIM card tray. The exception is the iPhone Air, which does not have a physical SIM card tray no matter which market it is sold in.
Chinese whistleblower Instant Digital stated as early as April this year that the iPhone 18 Pro would not be available in black. Last year was the first year that Apple's high-end iPhones didn't come in black or dark gray at all, so it's possible Apple will continue this trend. In the same month, Macworld reported that Apple may launch four colors: light blue, dark cherry, dark gray and silver.
As for the final color scheme, the answer will be revealed soon. Apple is expected to launch the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max at its fall event next week, along with the first foldable iPhone, also known as the rumored "iPhone Ultra."
