Abstract:
Salys Automobile Co., Ltd. filed a lawsuit against the defendant in a case of malicious rumor-mongering through AI-generated videos, seeking compensation of 1 million yuan from the defendant. The case will be heard at the Liangjiang New District People’s Court of Chongqing on October 23. Judging from the content leaked on the Internet,
the defendant man used AI tools to create fake videos, forging images of Wenjie vehicles collapsing while driving, and using dubbing to deliberately discredit the safety of Wenjie products, and posted the videos on short video platforms to gain traffic
.

Sales made four demands in the complaint:
Require the defendant to immediately delete all infringing content and stop infringement; make a public written apology on the online platform to eliminate the negative impact; compensate for economic losses of 1 million yuan; and bear all litigation costs of this case
.If the defendant fails to fulfill his obligation to apologize on time, the court may publish the judgment in a national newspaper and the relevant costs shall be borne by the defendant.
The group chat information shows that
the man said that he posted a yin and yang video with less than 3,000 views, and then received a court summons. He also said that he "will never buy a Hongmeng car in this life"
.It should be pointed out that some people in the group said that the subpoena is useless. This is actually confusing the lawyer's letter and the court summons. Receiving a subpoena means that you have been sued, the court has officially accepted the case, and you need to participate in the court hearing as scheduled.
Some legal persons reminded that
AI is just a production tool. Operators cannot use AI generation as a reason for exemption, fabricate false videos, spread false information and damage corporate goodwill, otherwise they will need to bear civil tort liability
