Meta launches Muse for Small Business, Zuckerberg accelerates entry into enterprise AI market

📅 2026-09-29

Abstract:

While the AI intelligent Muse has performed well since its launch, Meta is expanding this service into the commercial field. The company released a small business version of Muse on Tuesday, which can connect to common software such as Asana, Zoom, Intuit, Box, Canva and Salesforce's Slack, as well as Meta advertising accounts and professional versions of Instagram and Facebook accounts.

Meta has not yet announced the pricing of the new service. It only mentioned the charging method of the existing Muse application at the end of the blog post: users can use it for free, but there is a usage limit. After exceeding it, it can be used on a subscription basis. Meta said that small businesses have been growing on its application platform for nearly two decades; businesses told Meta that what they lacked was not ideas, but time, so the company developed the Muse Small Business Edition in the hope of using software that users are already using to help get things done. Meta said that users only need to set goals for Muse, such as running a business or finding new customers, and the agent will start executing it.

The announcement comes on the heels of Meta’s plans for a new enterprise platform announced on Monday. Meta hired MongoDB CEO CJ Desai to take charge of the business. The new platform will include Muse agents, business intelligence agents and programming tools. The company is seeking to break away from its long-standing reliance on digital advertising revenue and explore business opportunities presented by artificial intelligence. Last year, Meta invested billions of dollars to recruit top AI talents, including Scale AI founder Alexandr Wang; he is leading the company's related efforts, and his team launched the Muse Spark series of models in April this year. Zuckerberg said at the Meta Connect conference last week that Muse is "core" to the company's AI strategy.

Meta’s stock price has risen 25% this month, but has fallen back in the past two trading days. One of the factors driving this round of gains is that Muse quickly topped the Apple App Store after being launched on September 8, ranking higher than ChatGPT. Evercore analyst Mark Mahaney told the media that he expects Muse to reach 100 million users in the next 6 to 12 months.

As Meta launches the small business version of Muse, OpenAI is holding a developer day event. This move also shows that Meta intends to compete with OpenAI and Anthropic in the enterprise AI market. Meta said that there are already 200 million small businesses on the Facebook platform, providing a huge potential user base for new businesses.
