Abstract:
When the console version of "GTA6" is released next month, PC players originally hoped to be able to play this game, but now it seems that they may be disappointed. Microsoft has made it clear that "GTA6" will not be streamed to PC through Xbox cloud games. Previously, foreign media The Verge reported that Xbox has obtained the exclusive streaming rights for "GTA6".
Xbox Chief Strategy Officer Matthew Ball provided clarification on The Verge’s report. Ball said the buzz surrounding GTA 6 and Xbox has led to some inaccurate reports.
The full statement is as follows: "While it is exciting to see everyone's enthusiasm for "GTA6" and Xbox, it has also led to some false alarms. We look forward to launching "GTA6" on the Xbox platform on November 19, but the game will not be streamed exclusively on Xbox, nor will it be streamed to PC."
This means, for PC gamers, this is a real shame.
The Verge initially reported that Microsoft has obtained the exclusive game streaming rights for "GTA6", and sources revealed Microsoft's plans. Previously, Xbox CEO Sharma told employees that Microsoft is preparing to do something "no other platform manufacturer has done" with "GTA6". The Verge said that this arrangement may be of great significance to PC players, because PC players do not yet know when they will be able to play the game.
Rockstar has not yet announced the PC version of "GTA6". Currently, it is only available on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S platforms. If streaming mode is adopted, PC players may be able to experience the game on the day it is released without having to wait for the PC version of "GTA6".
For Xbox cloud games, the timing of this chaos is quite subtle. Microsoft will make major adjustments to the service in November, including launching a pay-as-you-go option and changing the length of cloud gaming at different levels of Game Pass.
