Abstract:
NVIDIA has launched a new DLSS frame generation performance mode for RTX40 and RTX50 series graphics cards, which can achieve up to a 35% frame rate increase at a small sacrifice in image quality. This mode is currently in beta testing and is named Preset C in the DLSS advanced override settings in the Nvidia App.

The new mode uses a new algorithm to replace the original optical flow AI model, named frame generation-performance mode. The original mode is retained and renamed Frame Generation-Quality mode. Officials say that Preset‑C consumes less graphics card resources, but there will be a slight loss in picture quality.

Take the RTX5060 test data as an example:
3x frame generation: the frame rate increased from 120FPS to 132FPS
6x frame generation: the frame rate skyrocketed from 255FPS to 348FPS
Enable method: update Nvidia App, enter the DLSS override model preset in the settings, and select Preset C for the frame generation option. It is currently only a Beta version, and third-party actual testing has yet to verify whether the performance data given by Nvidia is completely true.
