📅 2026-10-20

Abstract:

Samsung Electronics said on Tuesday it will launch its first open-back headphones next week, named "Galaxy Buds On." The company said the headphones will be available in South Korea on October 27, with only a black version priced at 299,000 won (approximately $225). Galaxy Buds On feature an open design that sits lightly on the ear, allowing users to listen to music or watch video content while still being aware of their surroundings.

This product is also aimed at users who need to pay attention to their surroundings while running, and users who want to wear headphones in daily life while still hearing ambient sounds.

Samsung Electronics said it conducted multiple simulations using artificial intelligence (AI)-based optimization technology powered by four-dimensional (4D) computing and applied ergonomic design principles.

Nam Hyun-jeon, Samsung's head of wearable products, said: "If users suddenly have inspiration, they can have a conversation through Gemini Live to further refine the idea; or use the 'Quick Voice Memo' function to quickly record various ideas and to-do items. These features make this headset very practical in daily life."

Samsung said the headphones support hands-free artificial intelligence (AI) voice commands when paired with a smartphone or tablet.

In addition, the headset also has a head posture recognition function (which can recognize the user's head movements) and supports touch operations.

Samsung has not determined the specific launch time in other markets.
