Abstract:

ORICO, known for its storage and connection accessories, officially entered the notebook market and launched its first notebook Obook 15 AI. The machine uses AMD Ryzen 7 6800H processor and is equipped with a 15.6-inch full HD screen. The starting price is US$689.99. The first sales market is the United States and the Philippines. Channels and specific arrival times vary by region.

Ryzen 7 6800H is an 8-core 16-thread processor with a maximum acceleration frequency of 4.7GHz; the graphics part is an integrated Radeon 680M with 12 computing units and a maximum frequency of 2.2GHz. The notebook provides 12GB or 24GB LPDDR5 memory with a nominal rate of 6400MT/s; solid-state drives are available in 256GB, 512GB and 1TB options, using M.2 2280 NVMe PCIe 3.0 SSD. The fuselage also reserves an M.2 PCIe 4.0 expansion slot, which officials say can be additionally expanded to up to 4TB.

The screen is a 15.6-inch IPS matte screen with a resolution of 1920×1080, a refresh rate of 60Hz, a viewing angle of 170 degrees as stated by the manufacturer, and supports wide-band dimming. The body size is 356.5×232×19.35 mm and the weight is about 1.8 kg; it has a built-in 54.29Wh lithium polymer battery and comes with a 100W power adapter. The heat dissipation uses dual fans, dual heat pipes and dual air outlets. Fn+Q can switch between energy saving, standard and performance modes. The officially introduced processor power consumption levels are 25W, 35W and 45W respectively.

The interfaces include two USB-Cs that support PD 3.0, 10Gbps data transmission and DisplayPort 1.4 video output, as well as HDMI 2.0, one 5Gbps USB-A, one 480Mbps USB-A, 3.5mm audio interface and independent power port. Other features include Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, camera with physical privacy shutter, dual microphones, dual speakers, and a full-size backlit keyboard with numeric keypad. The body uses an aluminum alloy top cover and bottom, plastic palm rest and keyboard panel, and the screen can be unfolded back to 180 degrees.

Orrick’s AI selling point is the pre-installed XiaoAo AI Super Agent software, which contains 11 AI assistants for research, writing, programming and other tasks, and supports voice interaction, remote control, process automation and knowledge base management; the manufacturer claims that you can get 10,000 AI points when you log in for the first time. The official specifications do not list dedicated NPU or local AI computing power data, so "AI" is mainly reflected in the accompanying software services. The actual available functions and credit consumption still depend on the software and service conditions.

The product is available in silver, pink, and blue colors, and the recommended retail price is divided into three levels: 12GB memory plus 256GB SSD for $689.99, 12GB plus 512GB for $749.99, and 24GB plus 1TB for $899.99.
