Abstract:
RAZBAM JAPAN demonstrated the home cockpit system "ZERO-SIM" at the Tokyo Game Show 2026, and jointly exhibited the F-35 mixed reality simulator for the military with the Czech manufacturer VRgineers. Both types of devices provide experiences on-site.
RAZBAM JAPAN is the Japanese legal representative of RAZBAM, which provides third-party model expansion modules for "Digital Battle Simulation World". The Japanese company's business also includes VR/MR equipment, cockpit equipment and supporting computers for ordinary users and professional users, as well as 3D model design and development, activities and equipment rental. The booth also displays exhibits made from equipment actually used by F-15 fighter jets for viewing and photography.
ZERO-SIM can build a home cockpit in a semi-customized manner according to the installation space and purpose. The price is about 2 million yen, depending on the configuration. Type B with passenger aircraft layout and Type F with fighter layout are provided on site. Type F experience uses "Flight Simulator 12" and basically does not have the combat simulation function like "Digital Combat Simulation World".
The booth also offers a helicopter simulation experience using a "portable trainer", which was previously exhibited at the 2023 Tokyo Game Show. There were also people waiting in line at the ZERO-SIM experience area.
The F-35 simulator was developed by Vrgineers and uses MR mixed reality technology. After users put on the headset, they can not only see the equipment in the real cockpit and their own hands and feet, but also the synthesized virtual scenery and on-board system images. Physical panels, switches and touch screens can all be operated and generate corresponding feedback in the simulator; scenarios such as placing the map in the leg pocket of the flight suit can also be presented.
The system supports head tracking and can simulate the 360-degree field of view provided by the F-35 helmet-mounted display and DAS distributed aperture system. Users can still view flight information when turning their heads, and can also use the DAS screen to see the ground below that would otherwise be obscured by the cockpit and the aircraft body. The display in front of the cockpit is for onlookers to watch. It displays the processed user's perspective in real time and will not appear in the head-mounted display.
There is a "command center" composed of multiple monitors next to the cockpit. According to the booth personnel, this part is mainly used to check the operation status and set up simulation scenarios. It can also adjust the airspace, weather and attack targets. During the on-site experience, the staff added the drone target through the command center, and the cockpit system immediately displayed the target for the experiencer to complete locking and simulated missile launch.
The target customer of this F-35 simulator is the military of the country equipped with F-35. Unlike ZERO-SIM, which is sold to home users, it is not currently considered for sale to civilians.
