Abstract:
Roblox announced the Roblox Everywhere plan on September 11. In the future, creators can publish games on the platform as independent applications, covering mobile terminals, PCs and consoles. Related technologies and services will still be provided by Roblox.
Robulus said the program is designed to help creators reach users who are already active across different devices and applications. The independent application will be connected with the original Roblox client. New players using the independent application can play together with players in the client through the cross-platform connection function.
In addition to independent application release, Roblox is also preparing to lower the threshold for playing on the web. According to the current arrangement, players will enter the game details page through the Chrome browser before the end of 2026, and can start playing without installing an application. More browsers will be supported in the future.
The web player allows players to enter the game directly from search results, video platforms, social platforms, emails or links shared by creators. Roblox also plans to improve the offline gaming experience in mobile scenarios and enhance the functionality for players to follow and chat with each other between different games.
The authoring tools will also continue to expand. Roblox plans to invest in more development tools for 2D games and improve content discovery mechanisms; development tools for mobile devices will lower the threshold for the production of short game content.
The company also announced the Roblox Card connected to the Roblox Wallet that day. Creators can directly use the available account balance in supported scenarios, and players can also receive discounts when purchasing the platform currency Robux through the card. The card is scheduled to be rolled out starting in 2027.
