Scottish grandmother Cath Bowie was recently certified by Guinness World Records as the world's oldest female "Fortnite" anchor. She likes to actively seek out opponents and eliminate them, and now has more than 24,000 followers.
Bowie started playing "Fortnite" in 2017, using the name grumpygran1948. It was her grandson who initially introduced her to the game, but he doubted anyone would watch her stream. Bowie said those words made her want to prove she could do it.
She plays "Fortnite" every day, but her goal is not to win the game. In a video interview with the BBC, Bowie said he prefers to enter a game and eliminate other players.
When talking about the nine years of gaming and live streaming experience, Bowie said that he has always enjoyed it. She thanked her family for their encouragement and her friends who traveled with her along the way.
For those who want to start playing games when they are older, Bowie's advice is not to let age get in the way: "If I can do it, you can too."
