According to the latest news, Samsung has tested a Galaxy S27 Ultra prototype equipped with a large 7000mAh battery, but it may not adopt this solution in the end. Instead, it will control the battery capacity of the mass-produced machine between 5700mAh and 6000mAh.
Previous leaked information shows that Galaxy S27 Ultra's rated battery capacity may be 5534mAh, corresponding to a typical capacity of about 5700mAh. If the news is true, this will be a significant improvement over the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s 5000mAh battery, and also means that Samsung’s Ultra flagship is expected to be equipped with a battery exceeding 5000mAh for the first time. However, compared with Chinese mobile phone manufacturers that have been actively stacking large-capacity batteries in recent years, this specification is still not outstanding.
The latest rumors claim that Samsung has built a Galaxy S27 Ultra test prototype with a built-in 7000mAh battery. However, in order to accommodate a larger battery capacity, the prototype eliminated the S Pen position. Considering that the built-in stylus is still one of the most representative differentiating features of the Galaxy S Ultra series, Samsung is obviously unlikely to abandon this design in order to increase battery capacity.
The internal space of the fuselage is limited, so the choice between battery and S Pen becomes a key issue. At the same time, Samsung is said to carefully control the amount of silicon material used in the Galaxy S27 Ultra battery to strike a balance between capacity improvement and long-term durability.
Therefore, the Galaxy S27 Ultra is expected to bring a larger battery of more than 5000mAh, but its capacity will most likely not be directly in line with 7000mAh, and it will be difficult to compete head-on with Chinese brand flagships in terms of battery specifications.
