According to "Business Insider", the launch event of Tesla's second-generation Roadster sports car will be postponed due to rain. Tesla said on Monday that it had made the "difficult decision" to postpone its outdoor launch event originally scheduled for Thursday, October 1, due to severe weather conditions.

Rumors say Tesla plans to hold the event near Waco, Texas. However, according to The Weather Channel, a weather forecast service, thunderstorms will occur locally on Thursday, with a probability of rainfall as high as 90%.
The launch event has now been rescheduled to October 15th.
Tesla adjusts press conference time
The original Roadster was Tesla's first car. It was a battery-powered sports car based on a heavily modified Lotus Elise chassis. Tesla stopped selling the model in 2012.
Musk released a prototype of his successor in 2017 and said it would go into production in 2020. The automaker promises it will be an electric sports car that can accelerate to 100 kilometers per hour in 1.9 seconds, have a top speed of about 250 miles per hour and a range of more than 600 miles.
Tesla then began accepting reservations, with deposit amounts ranging from US$50,000 to US$250,000, but the company has repeatedly failed to meet its mass production goals for this car. Musk expressed his gratitude to those "long-suffering" deposit payers during an earnings call in 2024.
The multiple delays of this car are largely related to Tesla's adjustment of its development focus. The company has gradually shifted away from traditional car sales to focus more on autonomous driving and artificial intelligence. Musk has also revealed that the Roadster may work with SpaceX to equip the vehicle with cold-air thrusters, which he calls "rocket-like things" that can briefly lift the vehicle off the ground.
