Abstract:
Recently, some netizens shared that while reading the physical book novel "The End of the Road Alone", they found that there was a suspected AI prompt word in it, "Do I need to fine-tune some sentences to make the overall writing style more suitable for the suspenseful and supernatural atmosphere?", which attracted attention.

▲Controversial content posted online
Red Star News reporters found that the content of this book was first published on an online text platform, with a score of 9.0, 22,000 comments, and 85,000 people reading it. The full text is 2.695 million words long and has been completed. On October 6, the author issued a relevant statement saying that the book was serialized from February 18, 2025 to April 1, 2026. It was "purely hand-written, without the use of AI, and without even a single touch-up." Before the adaptation, he was notified that the online text was different from the physical book, and many plots had to be deleted and modified by the publisher. He suspected that "small authors like me must be in the assembly line mode and leave it to AI to modify, which will lead to the above problems. It is a real disaster."

▲Author’s Statement
The author stated that according to the rules of the online writing platform, all text cannot be modified after completion. "On all genuine and pirated websites, there is no AI prompt word in this chapter anywhere." A reporter from Red Star News found that on the online text platform, there was indeed no suspected AI prompt word content in the corresponding paragraph. In addition, the reporter learned from people close to the book that during the online serialization period, there was indeed no suspected AI statement content exposed online.
A reader who purchased the physical book provided Red Star News with information about the copyright page of the book, which showed that the publisher was Jiangsu Phoenix Literature and Art Publishing House. A reporter from Red Star News reported this issue to the publishing house as a reader, and the staff said they would provide feedback to the editorial department. According to Jiupai News, the relevant staff said: "Relevant feedback has been received and the matter is being processed now. The books that have been sent will be recycled, destroyed and revised." Regarding questions about the use of AI in books, the other party said, "This manuscript has more links handled by editors, proofreaders, etc., and it is not the author's problem."
The copyright page also shows that the special editor is the production team of Running Little Fox. "Running Little Fox Production Team" is the trademark of Tianjin Zhiyu Time Culture Media Co., Ltd. The company's business scope includes book design and production, copyright agency, literary and artistic creation, etc. The reporter tried to inquire about this matter through phone calls, text messages, private messages, etc., but received no reply.
On the afternoon of October 9, Red Star News reporters could not find the book for sale on multiple e-commerce platforms. The flagship store that once sold the book showed that the original price of the book was 24.9 yuan, a total of 48 people reviewed it, and it has been removed from the shelves. Customer service said it was unclear whether it was sold out or whether it would be replenished.
