"Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remastered" announces fifteen changes and adds full voice acting

📅 2026-11-04

Abstract:

"Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remastered Edition" presents fifteen changes, covering character dubbing, operation methods, scene exploration, screen details and map layout. Key characters and important cutscenes will be fully voiced, but Link will remain silent.

Characters such as Zelda, Ganondorf, and Thalia will all speak. Navi's Japanese dubbing, Kaori Mizuhashi, returns after 28 years, and the English version uses new dubbing due to expanded dialogue. In terms of operation, players can actively control Link's jumping, and his swimming movements are smoother, but are still limited by breathing.

The loading screen when entering and exiting buildings has been canceled in towns and settlements. Residents, merchants and travelers will be added to Hyrule Castle Town, and there will be more interactions between NPCs. The camera can now rotate freely, and textures, weather, vegetation and clothing details have been improved.

The new "Time Line" will record the plot, achievements and current tasks through an ever-expanding tapestry, reducing players' reliance on on-screen road signs. The terrain, rivers, ruins, and layout of Rumble Ranch in Hyrule Plains have also been adjusted.

Other changes include changing the Mirror of Truth to actual goggles worn by Link, allowing the Iron Boots to be mapped to the D-Pad, and skipping the Ocarina playing animation. Link's finger movements when playing also correspond to the notes. In addition, the Switch 2 version is said to have a capacity of approximately 24.54GB, while the original and 3DS versions are approximately 32MB and 512MB respectively.
