According to previous reports from Nandu, the epicenter of the earthquake was located southwest of Marrakech, Morocco. The earthquake was felt in many cities such as the Moroccan capital Rabat and Marrakech. Multiple videos showed that many buildings in Marrakech collapsed during the earthquake. And due to damaged and blocked roads, it was difficult for Moroccan rescue teams to reach the areas most affected by the earthquake.

The epicenter was located about 71 kilometers southwest of Marrakech, and the focal depth was 18.5 kilometers.
