The iPhone 15 series of smartphones launched by Apple in the early morning of the 13th of this month began shipping last Friday and will gradually expand to more markets. Component manufacturers are also supplying large quantities of them for final assembly to meet market demand. Judging from previous reports by foreign media,Mass assembly of the iPhone 15 series began in August. In August, Apple also issued a production order to the supply chain for the second half of this year, ranging from 80 million to 90 million units, which is lower than the order of 90 million to 100 million units for the iPhone 14 series placed in August 2022.

Although it was previously reported that the orders placed by Apple to suppliers for the iPhone 15 series in the second half of this year were not as good as those for the iPhone 14 series during the same period, institutional data shows that initial orders for some components were higher than those for the iPhone 14 series during the same period, and OLED displays are one of them.
Data from supply chain organizations show that in August, when mass production of iPhone 15 began, the shipment volume of OLED displays required was 23% higher than the shipment volume of iPhone 14 series displays in August last year.
The agency's data also shows that among the iPhone 15 series displays shipped in August, the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max displays accounted for 59%, which is slightly higher than the iPhone 14 Pro series' 50% in the same period.
In the report, the agency gave the proportion of iPhone 15 series display screen shipments from June to August, which means that the display screens have started to be shipped at least in June.
External estimates before the release of the iPhone 15 series and the estimated delivery time after the release indicate that the two Pro versions have higher demand, which is also reflected in the display shipments from June to August. Among the displays shipped during this period, the two models used in the Pro series accounted for 55%, 10 percentage points higher than the other two models, and higher than the 49% of the iPhone 14 series in the same period.
