Beijing Interstellar Glory Space Technology Co., Ltd. announced today that it has successfully completed the first full system test run of the 100-ton liquid oxygen methane rocket engine Focus 2 (code-named JD-2). It is reported that JD-2 is a main engine independently developed by Star Glory for the medium and large reusable liquid launch vehicle Hyperbolic 3 (codenamed SQX-3).

According to the official announcement, the engine has a sea level thrust of 85 tons, a vacuum thrust of 105 tons, a thrust adjustment range of 35%-110%, and a thrust-to-mass ratio greater than 100. It adopts a large number of advanced technologies such as torch ignition, 3D printing, all-electric valves, and intelligent fault diagnosis. It has the advantages of high thrust-to-mass ratio, small outer dimensions, and convenient use and maintenance.

JD-2 is a high-performance liquid oxygen methane engine specially designed for multi-machine parallel reuse rockets. It is also the most powerful and technologically advanced liquid oxygen methane rocket engine that has successfully completed test runs in China so far.
