According to foreign media reports on September 30, Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry is exploring providing subsidies of up to 190 billion yen (approximately RMB 9.3 billion) to the Hiroshima factory of semiconductor giant Micron Technology.

Micron will introduce the most cutting-edge production equipment "Extreme Ultraviolet (EUV) lithography equipment" to its Hiroshima factory, and plans to mass-produce a new generation of DRAM (dynamic random access memory) starting in 2026.

Japan has also decided to provide up to 476 billion yen in subsidies to TSMC's Kumamoto plant to strengthen the domestic semiconductor industry foundation.
