Tesla CEO Elon Musk responded to an article over the weekend that he had earned more than $140,000 a minute over the past three years, calling it "what a stupid metric." The article stated:

"Musk's current net worth is $250 billion, a significant increase from $24.6 billion three years ago. In other words, during these three years, Elon's net worth has grown by an average of about $2,378 per second. That's $142,680 per minute, or $8,560,800 per hour. If he sleeps 8 hours a day, when he wakes up the next morning, he will find that he is $68,486,400 richer."

One fan shared a screenshot of the article on the X platform and added a "laughing" emoji.

Musk responded: "What a stupid metric. It's not a bunch of money. I just own stock in the company I helped create. Technically, I 'lose' much more than that every time Tesla stock randomly drops."
