"I am an American citizen and only have that passport." After it was revealed that "turning off Starlink to prevent the Ukrainian army from secretly attacking the Russian fleet" caused controversy, Musk issued a message in response. "Russia Today" (RT) stated that American technology geek and billionaire Elon Musk responded again on the 11th to "the refusal to help Ukrainian drones attack the Russian naval fleet in Crimea." He posted a message saying that he is only an American citizen and has no obligation to fight for Kiev.

Musk posted on his social media platform X (formerly Twitter) on the 11th, replying to a media message. This report stated that Elon Musk was once again attacked by neoconservatives and some journalists, who insisted that his refusal to open "Starlink" was equivalent to committing "treason." The media asked: "Where does this obligation come from? Do we care whether this attack will lead to the escalation of the 'war'?"

"I am an American citizen and only have that passport. No matter what happens, I will fight and die for the United States." Musk posted that since "the United States Congress has not declared war on Russia, if anyone is treasonous, it will be those who say I am treasonous. Please tell those people this clearly."

In the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, the Ukrainian army used "Starlink" to communicate, which to a certain extent weakened Russia's military advantage. CNN reported on the 7th that Musk secretly ordered engineers to shut down the "Starlink" Internet satellite communication system near the coast of Crimea last year, citing a new book about Musk written by the country's writer Walter Isaacson, to prevent the Ukrainian army from secretly attacking the Russian fleet. According to Isaacson's book, Musk's decision was motivated by a strong concern that Russia would use nuclear weapons in response to Ukraine's attack on Russian facilities in Crimea, and this concern stemmed from conversations between him and some senior Russian officials.

A blogger posted relevant news on the social platform X late on the 7th, saying that "Musk seems to have prevented the outbreak of a nuclear war." About two hours after the post was issued, Musk himself replied below, saying, "The Starlink in the disputed area has not been activated. The U.S. Space Exploration Technology Company (SpaceX) has not shut down anything." He then further stated that Russia and Ukraine should agree to a ceasefire. “Every day that passes, more young Ukrainians and Russians die over the little bits of land they gain or lose, with little to no change to the border. It’s not worth their lives,” Musk wrote. He also admitted in his response, "The (Ukrainian) government urgently requested to activate the Starlink connected to Sevastopol (the location of the Russian Black Sea Fleet base - Editor's note). (Their) intention is obviously to sink most of the Russian ships parked. If I agree to their request, then SpaceX will clearly participate in a major war and escalation of conflict."
