YouTube Music may soon be available directly on HomePod and HomePod mini via Siri integration, according to code hidden in the YouTubeMusic app discovered by @aaronp613.

There's a section in the YouTube Music app labeled "Connect with HomePod," which suggests integration may be coming at some point in the future. Apple has supported a handful of third-party music services on HomePod over the past few years, so Pandora, iHeartRadio, Deezer, and TuneInRadio already offer this functionality.
Although Apple offers SiriKitMedia functionality in iOS 14, music services like Spotify have yet to adopt this option, so its scope remains limited. With Direct Play, users can set a third-party service as the default music option, and when asked to play content, Siri on HomePod will play music from the selected service.
If YouTube Music does add support for playing music directly on HomePod, it could make the streaming service more attractive to Apple users.
