A bakery in the United States recently demonstrated its powerful technology by making the infected "Sound Hunter" in the game "The Last of Us" entirely out of bread. The bakery is called One House Bakery, and the statue is named "The Last of Crust (the last edge of bread, English homophone)". It was made by mother and daughter Catherine Pervan and Hannalee Pervan. The statue was made as part of the annual scarecrow competition on Benicia Street in the local city center.

According to the "East San Francisco" report, in previous activities, the mother and daughter also produced many "Star Wars"-themed bread products, with names such as PanSolo, Pain-dough-lorian, BabyDough-da and Pandroid, which are all homophonic bread memes of the names of popular characters in "Star Wars".

This year's theme was chosen because the mother and daughter were fascinated by the character Joel played by Pedro Pascal in the live-action TV series adapted from the HBO game.

The bakers also nicknamed the statue "FunGus". According to the San Francisco Chronicle, it took about 400 hours to create the statue itself, the head details, and the fungus in the background.

According to the mother-daughter duo in an interview, the Cordyceps details for the head were obtained by wrapping dough around a balloon and then popping the balloon: "When the popped balloon was removed, it left these really weird pod-like appearances that we were able to work with." The human body part of the statue was supported and crafted using a mannequin.
