The mass-produced pure electric supercar from China is here!Selling price exceeds one million, reaching 100 in 1.9 seconds, in the early years, it was difficult to link with domestic cars. The HaoBo brand of GAC Aian has done it. Last night it released the HaoBo SSR, the fastest-accelerating mass-produced supercar in China. Of course, it is not a futures product. It will be delivered to the first batch of users after its release.
Domestic companies have released supercars before, either as gimmicks or as brand mascots without seeking sales. Haopin SSR is different. GAC Aian has built a special production line for it. It is independently designed and developed by GAC, with an annual production capacity of about 500 vehicles.
This also means that as a 100% pure Chinese supercar, it not only ends the history of no supercars in China, but also proves that the current Chinese automobile industry is able to produce mass-produced supercars.
Haopin SSR is positioned as a pure electric two-door two-seater supercar. The price range is 1.286 million-1.686 million yuan, the new car is divided into three versions, namely standard version, Sprint speed version and Ultimate track version.
Among them, the 0-100km/h acceleration time of the entry-level version of Haopin SSR has reached 2.3 seconds, while the Sprint top-speed version and Ultimate track version can even reach 1.9 seconds.
With a starting price of 1.286 million yuan, the Haobin SSR has also surpassed the previous BYD U8 to become the most expensive domestically produced car.
01. One Second Club
The name of the new car is SSR, which represents three English words, namely Super, Sport and Race. Each word is related to performance, which also means that SSR is not just a look-alike, but its ultimate performance is undoubtedly its biggest highlight.
Let’s look directly at a set of data.
The Quark electric drive of Haopin SSR is equipped with a three-motor four-wheel drive system on the front and rear axles. The front axle is equipped with a permanent magnet synchronous motor with a rated power of 70kW and a peak power of 320kW, and the rear axle is equipped with two permanent magnet synchronous motors.
The rear left drive motor has a rated power of 60kW and a peak power of 260kW, and the rear right drive motor has a rated power of 70kW and a peak power of 320kW.
This power configuration allows the Haopin SSR to reach a top speed of 251km/h. The comprehensive power of the system can reach 900kW.
The motor uses a carbon fiber rotor. The maximum speed of the track version can exceed 24,000 rpm, the maximum horsepower is 1,225 horses, which is 1.5 times the F1 standard, and the peak torque on the wheel reaches 12,000N·m.
With the powerful motor power and a drag coefficient of 0.146Cd, the standard version of Haopin SSR accelerates from 100 kilometers to 100 kilometers in just 2.3 seconds. The track version and the top speed version can accelerate to 100 kilometers in just 1.9 seconds, making it the world's first mass-produced supercar to accelerate to 100 kilometers in 2 seconds.
The last domestically produced car to hit 100 mph in 1.9 seconds was Hongqi's S9, but that car sold for tens of millions and was not mass-produced.
Behind such powerful performance is Aian's original two-speed four-in-one high-performance motor, which is also a technology that Tesla has been unable to break through.
In 2006, Tesla planned to equip its first-generation Roadster model with a two-speed gearbox, but it ultimately failed due to the difficulty of development.
Most of the current pure electric vehicles use a one-speed motor gearbox. The biggest feature of the two-speed gearbox is that it can achieve instant high power through shifting gears, solving the problem of volume and weight caused by simply superimposing motors.
In addition, the all-silver sintering process and the support of 900-volt silicon carbide chips make the finished chip 30% smaller than ordinary chips, increase the current by 25%, reduce stray inductance by 40%, increase the operating frequency by 2.5 times, and reduce power consumption by 80%. This also means that the vehicle’s electronic components can stably support more powerful performance output.
While achieving lightweight, it also breaks through the torque barrier and optimizes power output. The superposition of various buffs gives Haopin SSR the ultimate zero-hundred acceleration performance.
02. The first supercar production line
It is not difficult to build a supercar, and most of it can be done by hand. However, it is very difficult to mass-produce vehicles on a large scale. It requires a complete and precise production line to ensure the quality and delivery cycle.
In order to complete the launch and delivery of Haopu SSR as scheduled, GAC gathered talents from multiple technologies including the aviation industry, automobile industry, etc. to develop and produce core technologies. Under such conditions, China's first supercar production line was born.
From sub-assemblies to body assembly welding, the collaborative cooperation between humans and AI equipment ensures the unification of all process benchmarks.
On this production line, GAC Haopin uses a 7+ process highly flexible welding robot to conduct more than 100,000 QDR tests in advance. The robot tool quick-change design is compact and combines 7 application functions and signals.
At the same time, it is ensured that the signals will not interfere with each other, thereby achieving a 100% pass rate. The body hole positioning tolerance zone is only ±1.0mm, which is higher than the accuracy of manual parts.
In addition, aviation-grade precision welding is used on the production line. The "Lego"-style precision welding error is only ±0.15mm, and the vehicle's torsional rigidity exceeds the published 50,000N·m, which also lays the foundation for its performance.
The spraying process is also unambiguous. Each car is sprayed by hand by advanced spraying craftsmen. The spraying process takes more than 50 hours. It combines the carbon fiber-specific 6C4B spraying process with the high-precision digital spraying mode. It is sprayed 6 times, baked 4 times, and supplemented by AI collaborative polishing to achieve 250μm high-performance car paint.
Through the compilable human-machine collaboration equipment, the visual assembly of exclusive parts of the supercar chassis is realized. By introducing the functions of lifting and rotating the car body, the free operation of the chassis and roof is completed.
Then, through an intelligent 3D laser inspection robot, 3D scanning vision collects data and compares it to detect and analyze the gap surface difference. Finally, each dividing line of the interior appearance is evenly distributed and production is completed.
Even with such a highly intelligent production platform,Only one Haobin SSR is produced in a day., two craftsmen manually installed 1,055 accessories, with more than 500 bolts in one car.
For comparison, the Aian production line next to it can produce a car in 53 seconds.
03. Supercar with smart driving
Although the Haopin SSR is a pure electric model, its front face does not adopt an electrified design language and is more inclined to a traditional supercar design.
Details adopt the design elements of large traditional supercars, such as the low-lying front of the car, the large opening in the front apron that serves aerodynamics, and the sporty aura. The headlights on both sides are long and narrow, and the giant grille runs through the entire front of the car.
In terms of body size,The length, width and height of the new car are 4583/1988/1238mm respectively, and the wheelbase is 2650mm.
The taillight shape also uses the current mainstream through-type design, and the light strip is cut through the brand LOGO in the middle, making it more recognizable. The huge rear diffuser has a sharp shape, with two "fangs" shapes on both sides.
The car door adopts a butterfly door design, which is officially called "wind-eating automatic butterfly wing". It adopts an electric design and can realize electric opening and closing.
The line design of the entire body, as well as the large diffuser and rear wing, will make people feel less like a new energy vehicle and more like a traditional supercar.
The reason why the Haopu SSR has the overall low profile of a traditional supercar is due to the battery layout, which arranges the battery pack longitudinally behind the seat backrest, forming a mid-engine layout similar to that of mainstream supercars.
This also makes the SSR drive more like a fuel-powered supercar, and also makes the vehicle's control more flexible.
Of course, in addition to the difference in power between new energy vehicles and traditional vehicles, the biggest difference is intelligence. As a pure electric supercar, Haopin SSR has made a clear distinction from traditional fuel supercars, that is, it has achieved intelligent leadership.
Haopin SSR adopts various intelligent functions such as AI trajectory traction system, DriverFirst intelligent cockpit, and ace digital coaching.
These functions can be understood as a "virtual coach" built into the car, which can help the driver easily understand the temperament of this pure electric supercar, making it "no longer a dream to get on the track in one second."
04. Chinese people’s supercar dream comes true
Looking back at China's automobile industry, it is actually difficult for the Chinese to build their own supercars.
20 years ago, in order to realize its dream of sports car, Geely launched theChina's first small sports car - Geely Beauty Leopard, the price range is 76,800-94,800, equipped with a 1.5L naturally aspirated engine with only 94 horsepower.
Although it was designed by an Italian design company, it clearly borrowed design elements from the Toyota Supra at that time, and its performance was not up to standard. This supercar, which lacked core technology, could not withstand the test of the market and was abandoned by Geely in just four years.
In 2019, Wang Xiaolin's words, "Saulin wants to fulfill the Chinese people's 'supercar dream'" rekindled the hope of the Chinese people in the supercar dream. But contrary to expectations, Sailin Automobile eventually became an old man trying to make money.
However, the Qiantu K50 built by Qiantu Motor seemed to have once again filled the gap in domestic sports cars. Unfortunately, it was born at the wrong time, and the Qiantu K50 ended up being discontinued, and the brand went into bankruptcy together with it. So far, domestic sales are less than 200 units, and the price of this car was as high as 750,000 at that time.
Although the Qiantu K50 failed, it also provided an idea for Chinese cars to enter the million-dollar supercar market.
In 2017, the NIO EP9 was born. With a time of 6 minutes, 45 seconds and 90 seconds, it surpassed the Radical SR8LM (6 minutes and 48 seconds) that previously ranked first on the list, refreshing the list of fastest production models in New York.
At that time, the traditional powerful players began to realize that the Chinese automobile industry was actually capable of making super sports cars.
For Haopin SSR, its positioning is extremely niche, its market group is not large, and its final sales volume will not be as outstanding as mainstream models, but its mission may have been achieved the moment it was launched.
